Why JBirdJoy?

At first glance one might assume, JBirdJoy is a name that celebrates literal birds, but this assumption is incorrect. I mean, I have recently downloaded a birding app called Merlin (highly recommended btw) but that's beside the point. I have chosen JBirdJoy as my title because "JBird" is actually my alter ego. JBird is all the things that I am afraid to be. She is strong, confident, outgoing, funny, smart, and inspiring. When I have a moment of hesitation, I think, "What would JBird do?" and then I act in accordance with the highest functioning parts of myself.

I highly recommend adopting an alter ego. Yes, it might be misconstrued as crazy but honestly, it has allowed me to grow and take chances I normally wouldn't. Like, starting a blog and an art business at 40. “Jess” (that’s me) sometimes overanalyzes and loses her nerve; after all, the sheer vastness of the unknown can make one feel small and insignificant. But JBird—she thrives on the challenge. Because of the fact that I have been able to project the best version of me into the world I am here now asking you to join me in my dream. I want to share with you my acquired knowledge and love for creating. I want you to find joy and calm in your days. I want you to make a habit of self care which I know has a ripple effect into the rest of your life.
